These days Chiang Mai is one of the best locations in Thailand for golfers traveling together with other people who are not that interested in playing golf. The largest of the golf courses in the Chiang Mai area boasts 27 holes, and the courses vary in level of difficulty from moderate to very challenging. Many of the courses are located in gorgeous natural settings with striking mountain views.

Several of the golf courses are part of large resort complexes. These are a good choice if you would like to bring your children along, since the resorts offer lots of interesting activities for young and old.

Easy Access

There are quite a number of golf courses that are within an hour’s drive of the city, easily accessible if you’re staying in the city center. Some are as close as just 15 minutes away, so you can enjoy a quick game and then spend the rest of the day touring and relaxing with your family.

As a change from golf, you can visit nearby historical sites, as well as the region’s beautiful rivers and waterfalls.
